Classic elegance reigns supreme at\u00a0The Ned<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a London hotel housed in a former bank. The building, designed in 1924 by British architect Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1939, sets the tone for a space that transports guests to the days of its genesis. Our favorite features? The sumptuous marble,\u00a0bold velvets<\/a>, walnut panelling, checkerboard flooring, and rich tapestries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Checks, please! The recently restored\u00a0Hotel Peter and Paul<\/a>\u00a0is the hotel of the moment among design aficionados. And we understand why. Situated in a New Orleans landmark that was once a church and school, the rooms boast canopy beds, claw-foot tubs,\u00a0bold checks<\/a>, and trompe l’oeil wardrobes. The design team at\u00a0ASH NYC<\/a>\u00a0absolutely nailed it when bringing this Southern gem to life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The arty eclecticism of\u00a0L’Arlatan Hotel<\/a>\u00a0has us longing for a trip to Provence. The town of Arles, which greatly influenced artist Vincent van Gogh, serves as the perfect backdrop for Jorge Pardo’s design genius. His happy spot is characterized by its light, colorful tiles, and murals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

BELMOND LA RESIDENCIA, MALLORCA<\/h3>\n

When we first discovered British fashion designer Matthew Williamson’s work for\u00a0Belmond La Residencia<\/a>\u00a0in Mallorca, we could not look away. In the suite pictured, traditional botanical prints and animal-inspired textiles playfully converse with a block-printed lampshade and bright pink walls. The result? A chic and cheery space that embodies the creativity of the island’s guests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

THE BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL, BEVERLY HILLS<\/h3>\n

With its pink facade and iconic “Martinique” wallpaper,\u00a0The Beverly Hills Hotel<\/a>\u00a0epitomizes Hollywood glamour. When styling our own\u00a0banana palm<\/a>, we often look to this fabulous hideaway for design cues. The use of\u00a0green and white cabana stripes<\/a>, along with dusty pinks, wicker furniture, and tropical flora, feels timeless.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Liz Lambert’s portfolio of hip and quirky Texas hotels has always inspired us.\u00a0El Cosmico<\/a>, an assortment of vintage trailers and yurts in Marfa, is our favorite. Just down the road from Donald Judd’s Chinati Foundation, this desert hideaway is punctuated by colorful touches \u2014 from the candy-colored trailers to the striped blankets and robes within them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

HALCYON HOUSE, CABARITA BEACH<\/h3>\n

It’s all about pattern play at Australia’s\u00a0Halcyon House<\/a>. What was once a coastal motel has become a five-star patchwork of\u00a0bohemian blues<\/a>\u00a0and beachy stripes. The place feels like a beach cottage that belongs to your cool aunt. We love the way in which fellow New Yorkers like Wayne Pate and Madeline Weinrib are speckled throughout.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Designed by Jasper Conran,\u00a0L’Hotel Marrakech<\/a>\u00a0draws on the 1930s for inspiration. With a mix of antiques,\u00a0rich red stripes<\/a>, and Moroccan rugs, the hotel’s spaces showcase locally-sourced items while maintaining a look that’s edited and sharp.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Twenty-six US presidents have paid a visit to\u00a0The Greenbrier<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a classic American resort. Designed by Carleton Varney with a great deal of inspiration from pioneer Dorothy Draper, The Greenbrier makes use of\u00a0bold colors<\/a>\u00a0and striking contrast. Palm leaves make an appearance here too \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When thinking about our collection of #beyondthebeige hotels, Jonathan Adler’s groovy rehab of the\u00a0Parker Palm Springs<\/a>\u00a0caught our eye.
